About the artists.
Jahganaut, now living in Leeds, has been releasing a steady stream Jungle across labels such as Cat In The Bag, Blueskinbadger, Future Retro, Myor Massiv, Lickshot and many more with a lot on the horizon. Ranging from 4x4 Jungle Techno to straight up breakbeat choppage, Jahganaut delivers every time
He has also went on to launch his own label alongside Ark X called The Game. GAME001 is out and 002 is out soon.
Duburban, is a jungle and dub producer out of Huddersfield. Music is his mission and sound system culture is his inspiration. Releases spanning labels such as Myor Massiv, Meditator, Cat in the Bag, Jungle Syndicate, Lickshot Recordings, 3am Eternal, and way more. He shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. When he’s not mashing up breakbeats, he’s mixing dubwise on the desk or recording guitar and percussion on dub and roots productions. Co-founder of Junglism events in Huddersfield and part of the hand built Sub:Cult sound system.
“Jahganaut and I work together often and always vibe well in the studio. When we made First Light we were on day 3 of a production binge. We called the track first light as we thought the intro sounded like early morning free party vibes when the sun is coming up.”
Simply Dread is a breakbeat addict. Taking inspiration from many styles of music and creating beats spanning across the jungle spectrum is part of the program. With roots in the free party scene of the south east, he has made a name for himself as part of the Junglism crew running successful events in Huddersfield alongside Ark X, Duburban and B.O.D.A.
"This tune came together really quickly, mostly in one evening. It was made during lockdown when my laptop had broken so I was using a computer borrowed form work, and didn’t have access to any of my usual software & samples. It can be useful to have a few restraints to make you approach things differently from usual. I’ve been getting more & more into the early 90s hardcore sounds over the last couple of years, and this tune is my take on that kinda vibe."
